The Department of Criminology and Security Studies was established in the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences in 2020/2021 academic session. The department has various fields of Specializations including, Penology, Cybernetics, Security studies, Victimology, Social Psychology, Scientific thought, Research methodology and a host of others.

As a Unit within the University established for the production of human resources, the department currently trains undergraduates for the B.Sc. (Criminology and Security Studies) programme. It is envisaged that future expansions will be in the areas of Post Graduate Diplomas   and other Post-Graduate Programmes in all areas.
