The main objectives of the Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (B. MLS) degree programme are to:

(i)   Provide students with a broad and balanced foundation of Medical Laboratory Science Skills: performing effectively in Clinical Diagnosis services, academics and quality assurance; and functioning effectively or in collaboration with other health team and personnel at all levels of Health care

(ii)  Expose Graduates to intellectually stimulating and satisfying experience of learning, studying and research.

(iii) Produce graduates in Medical Laboratory Science for the relevant Federal and State Government Hospitals and Research Establishments.

(iv) Develop in students, an appreciation of importance of Medical Laboratory Sciences in Health, Industrial, Economic, Environmental and Social contexts.
