Dr. Ayetiran has over thirteen years of university teaching and research experience both in Nigeria
and abroad. He was a recipient of the ERCIM Alain Bensoussan postdoctoral fellowship under the
auspices of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics, during which he
was resident at the Norwegian of University of Science and Technology. For the fellowship, he
worked on deep learning techniques for fake news and harmful languages detection. He was also a
postdoctoral fellow at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.
Dr. Ayetiran obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (2006) awarded by
Adekunle Ajasin University, a Master of science in Computer Science (2011) awarded by
University of Ibadan. In 2017, under the European Commission's Erasmus Mundus doctoral
fellowship, he obtained a Ph.D in Computer Science awarded by University of Luxembourg and
another PhD in an interdisciplinary field of Law, Science & Technology (Legal Informatics) jointly
awarded by the University of Bologna, University of Turin, University of Luxembourg,
Autonomous University of Barcelona, Tilburg University & Mykolas Romeris University. As part
of his doctoral studies, at various times, he was at the Universities of Bologna and Turin,
Autonomous University of Barcelona and University of Luxembourg. Dr. Ayetiran is passionate
about quality teaching and cutting-edge research. His research interests fall broadly in many areas
of Artificial Intelligence (Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing). He also works in
the area of Computational Social Science and Data Science.
