Dr. E. K. Olatunji has a B.Sc degree from University of Lagos, Lagos; a Master’s degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, Nigeria, and a Ph.D degree from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso; all in Computer Science. He is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and the Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).
Dr. Olatunji has many publications in reputable national and international journals. He has authored and co-authored many textbooks in Computer Science both for secondary and tertiary educational institutions. His areas of specialization include Software Engineering, Systems Programming, Programming Languages and Security of Service-Oriented environments. His current research is on the design and implementation of a Native Language-based Programming Language using Yoruba with its current orthography as a case study.
Before joining the service of Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, Kwara State, Nigeria, Dr. Olatunji was a Senior Lecturer in the department of Computer Science of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State Nigeria. He was in the service of Bowen University for nearly eight years where he also held important administrative positions, including coordination of the departmental weekend (part-time) programme.
Prior to joining the service of Bowen University, Iwo, Dr. Olatunji was a Chief Lecturer and a former HOD of the Computer Science department, kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, where he worked as a lecturer for over two-and-a-half decades. He also had 5 years (part-time) lecturing experience at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and non-trivial technical and professional experiences both in the industry and in the Polytechnic. He was involved with initiating, designing and implementing a number of Computer application packages while in the service of Kwara State Polytechnic. Furthermore, Dr. Olatunji has held a number of administrative positions in the Polytechnic, including headship of the Computer Science department of the Polytechnic for two terms, each consisting of four years.
Dr. Olatunji has worked as a System Analyst / Programmer for about two-and-a-half years with an organization that made use of in-house developed software packages for its day-to-day business activities before he joined the service of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin in 1983.
Dr. Olatunji is a born-again, Bible-believing and practising Christian of the Holiness-Pentecostal assembly. He is also a tent-making pastor in his church, Deeper Life Bible Church, with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. He is happily married and blessed with Children.
