Olabode Omosola Jacob is currently the Ag. Head of Department (HOD) of the department of Mathematical and Computing Science of the University.
He is a middle-aged man with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and currently preparing for the result seminar for the PhD degree in the same University. He also obtained B.Sc. degree in Mathematics (Second Class Upper Division) and Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science, all from the prestigious University of Lagos in 1982 and 1986 respectively. Additionally, he has a robust practical working experience in ICT over the years, which he brought into the academia impacting the students positively.
He has also had the privilege of teaching at all levels of education; primary, secondary and tertiary. His teaching career in tertiary institutions has seen him teach in College of Education and Universities over the years. He has also had the opportunity of engaging in research and community development functions in all the tertiary institutions he has had the opportunity of working. For example, at Crown-Hill University, Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, Omosola Olabode was Dean of student affairs, a position he held with distinction.
As Lecturer II, at Crown-Hill University, in the department of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Computer Unit he had privilege of lecturing 100 to 400 level students in various computer courses and supervising s400L students’ projects. And in the area of research, he has continued to engage in research work in the area of Artificial Intelligence.
A god fearing, family man to the core, Olabode’s interest entails research, writing, reading and travelling. He was the editor-in-chief for many years of the now rested Matstutor magazine, a magazine devoted to helping students preparing for ordinary level exams in mathematics.
