Olaoye Adenike Mercy is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in academia and administrative support. She currently serves as the Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, an Associate Lecturer in Christian Religious Studies for the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (IJMB), and a Facilitator for the Entrepreneurship course program on Interior Decoration and Craftsmanship under the Directorate of Research and Products Development.
In her role as Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Mercy ensures the smooth operation of the office by efficiently managing the schedule, which includes appointments, meetings, record-keeping, and updates. She acts as a primary point of contact through calls and emails, drafts correspondence and presentations, and maintains relationships with key stakeholders. Her responsibilities also include attending meetings chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, taking minutes, and serving as secretary to university committees. Additionally, she keeps the Vice-Chancellor informed about important university matters, organizes events and visits, supervises office staff, and conducts research on various topics. Through these tasks, Mercy plays a vital role in ensuring that the Vice-Chancellor has the necessary support to lead the university effectively.
As an Associate Lecturer, Mercy designs and delivers lectures, tutorials, and seminars that align with both the IJMB and Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) curricula. She creates engaging lesson plans and course materials tailored to diverse learning styles and assesses student progress through exams, assignments, and presentations. Mercy provides feedback and guidance to students, encouraging critical thinking and informed discussions.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mercy stays updated with developments in the field of dialogue and peace studies. She attends and presents papers at conferences, collaborating with colleagues to enhance her ongoing Ph.D. thesis, which focuses on Dialogue and Peace Studies. Her dedication to advancing academic knowledge and driving meaningful social change is evident in her publications.
Mercy’s further responsibilities include assisting with student admissions, supervising research projects, participating in faculty development programs, and contributing to outreach activities that promote education and mentorship for sustainable development. She spearheaded the 2024 Thomas Adewumi University Inspires Girls in ICT with Community Outreach: Sensitization Program at Norte Dame Girls Academy. By creating a legacy of empowered, informed, and socially conscious individuals, she aims to advance gender equity and social justice long into the future.
Public engagement and outreach are also vital components of Mercy's career goals. She engages in public speaking, writing, and raising awareness about issues at the intersection of religion, gender, and society. Mercy is quite emotionally intelligent and loves being artistically creative and intentional in her relationships. She loves reciprocal respect and honesty.
