Dr. Olaoye Adenike Mercy is the Executive Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor at Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko, and also serves as an Associate Lecturer and Facilitator for Entrepreneurship in Interior Decoration & Craftsmanship under the Directorate of Research and Product Development. She is a Fellow of the African Society for the Study of Sociology and Ethics of Religions (ASSOSER).
Her research focuses on interreligious dialogue, peacebuilding, and therapeutic pluralism, with strong links to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She has published several scholarly works and presented at national and international conferences. She has also had the privilege of representing the Vice-Chancellor at high-profile events, including the Webfala Digital Skills for All Initiative, where she delivered goodwill messages and reinforced TAU’s commitment to innovation and gender equity.
As Executive Assistant, Dr. Mercy oversees external and stakeholder engagement on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, managing official correspondences, responding to interview requests, and facilitating institutional representation. She coordinates academic profiling and knowledge management systems, ensuring that staff publications, research outputs, and career updates are regularly uploaded to the TAU website. She contributes to national and global university rankings by completing institutional questionnaires and maintaining accurate online databases. Dr. Mercy also manages staff onboarding onto institutional portals, painstakingly collecting and verifying details to create updated digital profiles. In addition, she curates and uploads students’ theses, presentations, and seminars, as well as staff inaugural lectures, guest lectures, and lecture series, ensuring they meet professional standards for visibility and impact.
Beyond academia, Dr. Mercy is the founder of MercyCrafted Interiors, a creative brand that blends artistry with entrepreneurship. She actively contributes to community development through initiatives such as the Inspires Girls in ICT Outreach and the Oko Youth Empowerment Training in Skills Acquisition. A keen lifelong learner, she is recognized for her resourcefulness, creativity, and dedication to personal and professional growth. Her leadership and mentorship are guided by values of integrity, creativity, emotional intelligence, and reciprocal respect.
