Nestled amidst picturesque surroundings, the sprawling Faculty of Engineering, located in the East Campus of Thomas Adewumi University and code-named “TAU-FENG”, stands as a testament to architectural brilliance and academic excellence. Boasting cutting-edge infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and an array of world-class amenities, this prestigious Faculty aims to provide an immersive and holistic learning experience to its students, demonstrate a commitment to nurturing bright minds and fostering innovation in the field of engineering. TAU-FENG complex stands as a testament to the University Chancellor, Engr. Dr. JBO Adewumi’s dedication to providing top-tier facilities and resources to students. According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, “TAU-FENG has been meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive range of engineering disciplines, encompassing mechanical, electrical and electronics, civil, computer, communications engineering, and more. The curriculum has been tailored to meet industry demands, incorporating the latest advancements in technology and research. With a strong emphasis on practical learning, students will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops, facilitating hands-on experience and fostering creativity.” Speaking further, the Vice-Chancellor disclosed that “to ensure an enriching educational journey, TAU-FENG has assembled a stellar faculty comprising globally renowned professors, eminent researchers, and industry experts. With their guidance and mentorship, students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to tackle complex challenges and drive meaningful technological advancements.”
Recognizing the significance of entrepreneurship and innovation in driving economic growth, the TAU-FENG has within it, a dedicated Centre for Digital Systems established in partnership with the Steinbeis Institute for Material Applications and 3D Printing Solutions (iMAPS), Germany, to serve as an innovation hub, to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among students, empowering them to transform their groundbreaking ideas into viable businesses and contribute to the nation's economic prosperity. To prepare the students of TAU-FENG for the global industry, the TAU-iMAPs Centre for Digital Systems shall focus on providing models of modern production lines that are lean, digital, contained in relatively small spaces and highly collaborative in nature. Working with our partners at the Innovations Lab, Johannesburg Business School, University of Johannesburg, students will be trained in the field of mechatronics, software engineering, computer coding, material science, additive manufacturing, surface engineering, engineering design, product development, energy management and logistics systems.
