Today 17th April, 2023, Thomas Adewumi University welcomes members of NUC to the University community for Resource Verification of Public Health Science, Environmental Health Science and English Language Departments.
The Director Academic planning, (Dr Oduwaiye) welcomed the NUC team to the University and introduced the Pro-Chancellor (Professor Olanrewaju), members of Board of Trustees (Dr. J.T Oderinde and Prof. Edungbola), the Vice Chancellor, (Prof. Francisca Oladipo) and Principal Officers.
The visiting team lead by Prof. Okebukola, comprises of experts in their respective fields. Professor Abdulwahab Kolawole, who has a background in Medicine from the University of Ilorin, Hajia Zainab Jubril, NUC representative for English Language, Professor Suleiman Adamu, NUC representative for Public Health and Environmental Health Sciences are the veterans that worked closely with TAU team to identify any areas of non-compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
In her opening speech, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Francisca Oladipo appreciated the NUC for counting the university worthy to be part of the institutions to raise future leaders as we are a young leading light in Kwara state eager to develop. She added that the university is a child wiling to learn, happy to grow and willing to be mentored.
From his fatherly speech, the pro-chancellor, (Professor Olanrewaju) also welcomed the NUC on behalf of the council, he mentioned that the council is in total support of the new courses to be accredited and the NUC should feel free to enjoy the school environment as we are partners in progress. The resource verification for these new programmes is going to add value to the society at large and assure us a better tomorrow.
The team lead, Professor Okebukola who appreciated the make-up of the institution stated that she is not surprised at what she has seen so far in the university as the university has the youngest Vice Chancellor in Nigeria, she noted that this is the first time in her 30 years of experience seeing the Pro-Chancellor and members of BOT of the institution in attendance for this exercise, this shows a sign of humility and commitment to the welfare of Nigerian Educational system.
TAU, she said, has paved the path for other private universities and left a positive legacy for Nigerian youth.
The meeting ended with closing remarks delivered by the Vice chancellor on behalf of the Chancellor and Founder of Thomas Adewumi University. He warmly welcomed the visitation team and said this will not end here, the friendship continues.
