Arinze Favour Anyiam is a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Researcher, and Lecturer with over 10 years of experience in Medical Laboratory Services. He is passionate about public health and has experience implementing quality management systems in clinical laboratory services. Arinze is a proactive team player with a logical approach to challenges and performs effectively in highly pressurized working environments to achieve target objectives.
Arinze is currently a Lecturer I at Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, where he serves as the Head of the Department, overseeing the managerial and technical aspects of the department. He provides strong academic leadership in the institution, ensures high quality of teaching and learning, and prepares and delivers regular lectures for students in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science. He also conducts tutorials, seminars, and laboratory practical sessions for students, prepares and marks student assignments, essays, exams, and provides one-on-one feedback on academic performance where necessary. Arinze also supervises the project works of final year students and junior staff. Additionally, he is involved in conducting further research in the fields of Haematology and Blood transfusion.
Previously, Arinze served as a Lecturer II at Kwara State University, Malete, where he was the Departmental Exam Officer and provided strong academic leadership in the institution, ensuring high quality of teaching and learning. He also prepared and delivered regular lectures for students in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Science, conducted tutorials, seminars, and laboratory practical sessions for students, prepared and marked student assignments, essays, exams, and provided one-on-one feedback on academic performance where necessary. Arinze also supervised the project works of final year students and junior staff and was involved in conducting further research into the fields of Haematology and Blood transfusion.
Arinze has also contributed to community development service through Ask the Paediatricians Foundation and Kwara State University, Malete, where he carried out basic Laboratory diagnostic tests on babies and children and conducted COVID-19 health talks and sensitization. He also provided COVID-19 prophylactic materials for primary school children across different primary schools in Kwara State. Additionally, he carried out a health talk and genetic counseling of students at Bartholomew College of Health Technology Shao, Kwara State, and carried out vaccine data enumeration at different health facilities using the ODK Application.
Arinze obtained his Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki and worked as an Intern Medical Laboratory Scientist at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu, Enugu State, where he performed simple diagnostic tests in the areas of Medical Microbiology, Virology, Histopathology, Parasitology, Haematology, and Blood Group Serology. He also earned a Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (Haematology) and completed a course on Leadership and Management in Health at the Department of Global Health, University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Arinze is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science at Edo State University, Uzairue, and is also studying Blockchain development at the National Information Development Development Agency (NITDA).

2020 Completed a scholarship in Disease Screening in Public Health online course organized by the University of Geneva on Coursera, which took about 8 weeks and approximately 22 hours to complete. Acquired the competency to be involved in the scientific field of screening and also understand the public health perspective in screening programs.

2020 Completed an online certification in Basic and Advanced ECG (Electrocardiogram) Level 1, a 5-week long intensive theory and practical-based course organized by the Rescue and Support Initiative. Acquired skills in reading and interpreting ECG strips and assessing different medical conditions.
