In the first Interschool Debate Competition organized by Landmark University Student Council, Thomas Adewumi University put forth an excellent performance and secured third place, bringing joy and pride to the University community. The debate, hosted by Landmark University, saw five universities competing against each other.
The topic of the debate was "Development of Artificial Intelligence: should it be encouraged? “And our institution presented a compelling argument against the motion. The arguments were well-researched and delivered with confidence, impressing the judges and earning our students high scores. (Emmanuel Oladapo, 300 level Nursing Science and Obafemi Oluwatoduni, 200 level Software Engineering). The judges were particularly impressed with the student’s points and presentation.
Redeemers University was announced as the winner, followed by Adeleke University in second place. However, Thomas Adewumi University secured third place. The school administration congratulated the team on their exceptional performance.
The interschool debate provided an opportunity for students to showcase their public speaking and critical thinking skills, and the outcome of the event reflects the dedication and hard work of the students and their coach.
