As part of the efforts towards preparing students for high-growth careers, Thomas Adewumi University has begun a partnership exploration process with a world-class MOOC provider, Coursera through their Coursera for Campus initiative. This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo, FNCS today, after a strategy meeting with Coursera’s Partnership Director, Andy Poole. “This initiative will strongly promote one of the key policies of our Chancellor, which is to ensure that we equip our students with the skills necessary for them to lead productive professional and personal lives after graduation…”
“Through this initiative, we shall offer our students at TAU, access to thousands of courses and guided projects as a pathway towards developing highly skilled graduate entrepreneurs for the Nigerian market and support the initiative of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to raise the profile of online learning in Nigeria. In addition, we shall deploy the platform to support our early digital talent pipeline project at our sister institution, TAICO and our Vocational Training Centre” She added.
The Coursera for Campus initiative is designed to support universities to prepare their students for high-growth careers by training them to develop skills that will prepare them for an evolving digital workplace in both the private and public sectors. This is achieved through thousands of courses developed by subject-level experts in world class universities across the world.
