Freshers Receive Sensitization on Library usage, Course Registration, Goal-setting, others

The freshers of Thomas Adewumi University, on Wednesday, 12th of October, 2022; the 2nd day of the orientation week, have continued to receive insightful sensitizations from Academicians to help them adjust to the university’s academic, social and cultural environments.

The freshers’ orientation program which was facilitated by the Dean of Student Care Services commenced on Tuesday, 11th October, and will end on Friday, 14th of October.

The 2nd day of the freshers’ orientation week featured a lecture tagged: ‘Overview of course Registration and Course Unit system & Examination Rules and Regulations from the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computing & Applied Sciences, Dr. R.O Folaranmi. He educated the students on how to proceed with their course registration and how they need to take cognizance of the unit attached to each course.

The University Librarian, Mrs. Lois Adeboye, also delivered a lecture on the Use of the Library. She introduced the freshers to TAU Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and urged them to make good use of it.

The third and last lecture for the day is tagged: ‘Goal Setting and Time Management. It was delivered by Mr. Farounbi, a lecturer in the Biochemistry department. while interacting with the students, he expressed that “to know what you should be doing with your time, it is important to know what you are working towards”.

Mr. Farounbi while discussing the importance of time management, highlighted the following reasons; “it will help to prioritize your tasks, accomplish short-term and long-term goals, increases productivity, experience fulfillment, aids in money management, reduces stress and prepares you for the real world”
