The newly appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) for the Omu-Aran Area Command, CSP Awobayekun Olatunde M., paid an official courtesy visit to Thomas Adewumi University on Thursday, May 8, 2025, as part of his familiarization tour within his jurisdiction.

The CSP, accompanied by his team, was received by the University’s Registrar, Mr. Kolawole Fisoye, who duly represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo.

During the visit, Mr. Fisoye took the opportunity to brief the police officers on the university’s recent achievements, including the successful National Universities Commission (NUC) resource verification for the MBBS and B.Sc. Radiography programs, the establishment of the School of Postgraduate Studies, and the recent launch of the Top-Up program, while highlighting the importance of the university’s Criminology and Security Studies program, which is offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Emphasizing the university's commitment to the safety of its community, Mr. Fisoye stated, “We operate an open-door policy here at Thomas Adewumi University. We welcome collaboration and are always open to partnerships that promote safety, peace, and mutual benefit," he stated, urging for more patrols around the Oko Irese Police Station to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.

In his response, CSP Awobayekun assured the university of the police force’s continued support. “We are your friends, and our friendship is centered on ensuring safety and security. We encourage continued communication and cooperation,” CSP Awobayekun said, acknowledging the university’s commendable achievements and assured them that the Omu-Aran Area Command's doors are open 24/7 to TAU.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the university’s academic facilities, reinforcing the ongoing partnership between TAU and the Omu-Aran Area Command to promote safety and security in the region.
