Thomas Adewumi university in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education hosted a workshop on “Digitization of Lecture Notes” for all teaching staff on Monday at the university auditorium, Oko, Kwara state.

The vice-chancellor of TAU, Professor L. K Ayorinde has disclosed that the workshop which was sponsored by the Federal ministry of education and facilitated by the Ideal Morning Star TET Consultants will improve the standard of academics in the university.

Dr. Gbenga Yussuf, a former lecturer from a federal tertiary institution in Nigeria and the initiator of the digitization workshop during his presentation expressed that the digitization of lecture notes using various platforms has two major benefits which are “improvement in service delivery” and “creation of additional revenue for the tertiary institutions”.

He urged lecturers to adopt the method of storing academic materials such as lecture notes on USB flash drives and through online platforms and other digital devices citing that it will help reduce stress on the delivery and cut the cost of production of hard copy materials.

The VC of the university Prof. Ayorinde, commended the resource person after the question and answer session, and wished him a safe journey as he proceeds to other tertiary institutions to propagate the digitization of lecture notes. The workshop ended with a group picture session featuring the Vice-chancellor, the resource person, and the attendees.
