Staff and students of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU) assembled at the school cafeteria after work hours on Monday to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the school and to celebrate the birthday of the proprietress, Dr. Gloria Oluwakemi Adewumi which coincides with the anniversary of the school.
The founder of Thomas Adewumi University Dr. Johnson Adewumi while addressing the audience expressed his gratitude to God for both feats and announced he will fulfill his promise of presenting a brand new laptop to the emerging scholar at the celebration as he had promised.
The chancellor of the TAU, Asiwaju Johnson Adewumi, while presenting a brand new Lenovo laptop to the emerging scholar, Emmanuel, a 200l Nursing student, commended him on his achievement and advised other students to keep up with their academics.
The scholar, Mr. Emmanuel Adenigba Oluwanfemi, in an interview with the communication and marketing unit, expressed his gratitude to God who has been his strength and help. While commending the founder for the initiative he said “I must say he has a place in my heart already, having made a promise and fulfilling it”.
The Vice-chancellor of TAU, Prof L.K Ayorinde expressed his appreciation to the founder and staff, saying that the university started with 16 students on the 16th of may 2021, and has increasingly grown over time. He pointed out his optimism for more student enrolment, citing that the institution has the infrastructure and the manpower needed to groom the next world leaders.
TAU was founded by Dr, Engr. Johnson Bamidele Adewumi through Decrown West Africa. The foundation was laid on the 2nd of May 2015. The academic session commenced on May 16, 2021, with 3 faculties and 15 Departments while the maiden matriculation was held on the 20th of August, 2021.
