In a significant milestone for Thomas Adewumi University, the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation Team visited the campus to evaluate the Department of Medical Laboratory Science. The accreditation process, conducted yesterday, has been met with immense enthusiasm from the entire University community.
The NUC accreditation team, comprising esteemed experts in the field, spent the day assessing various aspects of the Medical Laboratory Science Department. This thorough evaluation included a comprehensive review of the curriculum, faculty qualifications, laboratory facilities, student resources, and overall compliance with NUC standards. The University Management team extended a warm welcome to the NUC representatives and demonstrated the Department's unwavering commitment to delivering excellence in Medical Laboratory Science education. The team had the opportunity to witness state-of-the-art laboratories, well-equipped classrooms, and a dedicated faculty.
During the opening meeting held at the Senate Chambers, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, extended a heartfelt welcome to the team, emphasizing the University's humble beginnings and its significant impact on the local community. Prof. Francisca expressed sincere gratitude for the invaluable support and mentorship provided by the NUC accreditation team, which has benefited the University community at large, particularly benefiting the University's science signature academic programmes, including the Medical Laboratory Science program. She highlighted TAU remains committed to its focus on STEM-i education, which encompasses Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, and Innovations.
Prof. Jimoh Sule, the Team Leader of the NUC Accreditation Team, commended Thomas Adewumi University for its commitment to providing a world-class education in the field of Medical Laboratory Science. In his statement, he said, it is evident that Thomas Adewumi University has made substantial investments in establishing an environment conducive to high-quality education and research in the field of Medical Laboratory Science.
