The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, took a farm survey with the Director of Ventures, Mr. Lanre Oladimeji, Director of Works, Engr. Lanre Ilesanmi and Mr. Femi Ayorinde. The visit was to take stock of all livestock and plantations at Thomas Adewumi University Farm and to strategize how to improve farming, increase production and introduce more diversity.

The Director of works, Mr. Lanre Oladimeji, confirmed returns from the oil palm farming, adding that the school has been able to process about 250 litres of palm oil from the farm. The Vice-chancellor proposed that the shafts from the palm kernels should be sold to industries that use additive technologies like soap industries.

Prof. Oladipo, during the tour, stated that agriculture is one of the liable sectors from which the University can make income citing the need to strengthen the retail arm of the farm.

Other crops that should be ready for harvest from the university’s farmland include Beans, Yam, and Plantain. During the meeting, suggestions were made for the addition of new crops for planting and animal farming which include; cashews, vegetables, goats, and more piggery.
