Today marks the beginning of a new journey for students of Thomas Adewumi University that have been enrolled in the Microsoft Emergence Academy, as they had their very first session of the tech skill acquisition. The virtual session was anchored by representatives of the Microsoft Emergence Academy, Betty Skye, and Solomon Awosika.
The virtual introductory class, which took place at the school’s e-learning center, launched the students into the curriculum they would be taught within the next couple of weeks. Some of the vital topics include fundamentals of 2019 Microsoft office suites (MS word, excel, PowerPoint, access, and outlook), programming languages such as Python, HTML, JavaScript, Azure Fundamentals such as Cloud computing, Software development Fundamentals, etc.
This session served as an eye-opener for the students to gain insight into the different skills available in this Program and help them decide on the areas that interest them the most. In addition, the trainers clarified that each student would learn via Luminate, an online learning platform. Using Luminate will ensure tracking of each student’s journey by the tutors. The smooth running of the first virtual class session was facilitated by the Program Coordinator, Mr. Olanrewaju Oladimeji.
