...as the first set of Medical Laboratory Science students is indexed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
The entire Thomas Adewumi University family was in a joyous mode today as we received the news of the FULL ACCREDITATION of the B.Sc. Nursing Science Programme by the National Universities Commission (NUC), and the succesful indexing of the first set of our Medical Laboratory Science undergraduate students by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, made this known to the congregation of staff members of the University Community in a broadcast message. The visibly elated Prof. Oladipo said she received the exciting report of the full accreditation status for the undergraduate Nursing Science programme today, June 15, 2023, via a letter signed by the NUC’s Deputy Director (Programme Accreditation), Arc. S. S. Ikani. She further stated that the full accreditation status is valid for a period of 5 years (2023–2028).
The news of the accreditation was immediately followed by a letter from the Registrar/CEO of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), notifying the Vice-Chancellor of the successful indexing of the first set of Medical Laboratory Science students. This indexing qualifies them to participate in the MLSCN Professional examinations, and, subsequently, for the award of Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS).
The Vice-Chancellor expressed deep appreciation to all the members of the university community for their consistent support, which has contributed to the enormous success within the two years of its establishment as she enjoined all to renew their energy, commitment, and determination as they continue to put the university on the global radar.
