300 level Computer Science students presented their Students' Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) reports to their lecturers today May 4, 2023. The presentations were an opportunity for the students to share their experiences during the 12 weeks program and to showcase the skills they acquired during the period.
During the presentations, the students (Omotayo Ifeoluwa who served at Radio Kwara, Adeyemi Damilare at 9mobile Telecommunications, Olasupo Victoria at News agent Abuja and Kolapo Dorcas at Radio kwara) gave an overview of their experiences in the industry, highlighting the tasks they undertook, the challenges they faced, and the practical skills they acquired. They also demonstrated how they applied the theoretical knowledge they had learned in the classroom to solve real-world problems.
The lecturers in attendance (Dean of Computer Science; Dr. A. K Olatunji, Sub-Dean Computing and Applied Sciences; Dr. R. O Folaranmi, H.O. D Computer Sciences; Mr. Olabode Jacob, Director of SIWES; Mr. Opeyemi Odunnzuike, Mr. Taiwo, Mr. Ayeni Adewale and Mr. Ayenipekun) commended the students for their efforts and the quality of their reports, emphasizing the importance of the SIWES program in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills. They encouraged the students to continue to develop their skills and to apply the knowledge they had gained during their SIWES program in their future careers.
The H.O.D of Computer Science; Mr. Olabode praised the students for their dedication and professionalism during their SIWES program, adding that the program provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the industry and to develop important skills needed in the workforce.

It provides our students with hands-on experience in the industry, and helps them to develop practical skills, which are essential in their future careers.
