NSITF Engages Thomas Adewumi University on Employment Compensation Scheme Awareness

In a bid to enhance awareness and understanding of the Employment Compensation Scheme, a delegation from the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) visited Thomas Adewumi University. The sensitization lecture, held at the Senate Chambers of the East Campus, successfully brought together the University management team, Deans, Heads of Departments (H.O. Ds), and some members of staff.

The NSITF team, comprised of Heads of Departments under the NSITF, provided a comprehensive overview of the Employment Compensation Scheme during the informative session. They outlined the scheme's purpose, emphasizing its applicability to employees in both private and public organizations. The team highlighted the various types of compensation that NSITF offers which include, Medical expenses refund, loss of productivity, and Disability refund. They elucidated the process for organizations to register and derive benefits from the scheme.

During the session, a Questions and Answers segment allowed participants to seek clarifications on specific aspects of the Employment Compensation Scheme. The interactive exchange provided valuable insights for the University community, fostering a better understanding of the benefits and procedures associated with the scheme.

The Dean of Management & Social Sciences, Dr. James Ishola, representing the Vice-Chancellor, delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to the NSITF team for their enlightening session. He emphasized the significance of the Employment Compensation Scheme for both the University and its employees, underscoring the need for continued collaboration with NSITF to ensure the welfare of the University community.

The visit by NSITF to Thomas Adewumi University signifies a proactive approach by the University to prioritize the well-being and protection of its workforce through informed participation in social insurance programs. The engagement is expected to empower the University community with the necessary knowledge to fully leverage the benefits offered by the Employment Compensation Scheme.
