The Vice-chancellor of Thomas Adewumu University, Prof. Francisca Oladipo joins other Vice-chancellors, Pro-chancellors, the ESs of NUC, Tetfund, Registrar of JAMB, and other members of the Nigerian educational leaders to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of National University Commission (NUC).

The event which holds at F.C.T Abuja is themed: Celebrating 60 years of Regulation of University Education in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities. The anniversary also features the formal presentation of CCMAS by His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, (SAN GCON), Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The event commenced on Thursday, 1st of December, 2022, and will be concluded on Tuesday, 6th of December, 2022. The major highlights of the event include the Opening Ceremony and Anniversary Lectures and Symposia on Monday, the Lecture on Transnational Education and the Inauguration of the Steering Committee on Transnational Education on Tuesday and
Anniversary Dinner & Awards Night on Wednesday.

Important dignitaries presenting on the first day of the 2-day major event include brief remarks on the CCMAS by Professor Emeritus Peter A. Okebukola, Speech and Formal Opening by H.E. Professor YemiOsinbajo, SAN, GCON Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria while the Vote of thanks was given by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee and Deputy Executive Secretary (Administration) NUC, Mr. Christopher J. Maiyaki.

TAU appoints steering committees for new programmes

Another giant step has been taken as TAU inaugurates the steering committees for the establishment of two new programmes namely: Public Health and Environmental Sciences which will be domiciled in the Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences. While the Faculty of Engineering will house three (3) basic Engineering programmes namely: Electrical, Civil and Chemical Engineering.
