Our week is starting on an exciting note, as our prestigious institution, Thomas Adewumi University, Kwara state, Nigeria, joyfully receives the big news of sealing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the best private university in India, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab, India.

LPU is known for its professionalism in the areas of Computer Science, Software Engineering, and other digital technology programs. In our bid to strengthen the quality of education given to our students at TAU taking these programs, our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francisca Oladipo, has worked hard enough to make sure we sign an MOU with LPU.

The Scope of collaboration on academic and research activities in this Memorandum of Understanding includes the following categories:
Developing research projects jointly and avail funding;
Exchange of academic information, materials, and facilities;
Students Exchange;
Faculty Exchange;
Organizing/participating in Joint symposiums, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc.;
Developing articulations for twinning/joint programs and allowing students to undertake part of the program/course of study at each institution; and
Promoting such other activities/programs as mutually agreed upon from time to time.
Promoting cooperation in doctoral (Ph.D.) education.

The two parties have agreed to set up an administrative on-campus coordinator each, for the purpose of the MOU. These coordinators will be responsible for the smooth flow of communication between the two institutions and the effectiveness of the MOU.

The MOU which was prepared in line with the laws of the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Indian Government becomes effective right from the date both parties signed the agreement and is valid for five years before expiry. The agreement is subject to renewal based on the mutual agreement of both parties.
