TAU Holds fifth Extra-ordinary Senate Meeting

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo led the fifth extra-ordinary senate meeting at the University's Senate Chamber earlier today. At the meeting, some major reviews and decisions were made regarding the progress of the university, and plans for the coming year, 2023.

TAU Holds fifth Extra-ordinary Senate Meeting

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francisca Oladipo led the fifth extra-ordinary senate meeting at the University’s Senate Chamber earlier today. At the meeting, some major reviews and decisions were made regarding the progress of the university, and plans for the coming year, 2023.

One of the major highlights of the extraordinary senate meeting was the presentation made by the Vice-Chancellor to the Senate on her five-year strategic plan, which is from 2022 to 2027. This final draft was presented to the house and adopted by the Senate to commence execution. The revised academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic session, was also adopted by members of the Senate.

The Vice-Chancellor announced the dates for the holiday season for staff and students from Tuesday, 20th of December, 2022 to Thursday, 5th of January, 2023, and Saturday, 17th of December, 2022 to Sunday, 8th of January, 2023 respectively.
Other agenda discussed includes; new program plans for the ICT hub, examinations, and results, amongst others.

TAU appoints steering committees for new programmes

Another giant step has been taken as TAU inaugurates the steering committees for the establishment of two new programmes namely: Public Health and Environmental Sciences which will be domiciled in the Faculty of Basic Medical and Health Sciences. While the Faculty of Engineering will house three (3) basic Engineering programmes namely: Electrical, Civil and Chemical Engineering. This new development was revealed during the Fourth (4th) regular Senate meeting of the University, on Thursday 26th January, 2023.
