Mrs. Popoola graduated B.A. (Hons) English in 1980 and participated in the NYSC in Bornu State till 1981, before earning her M.A. English, from the University of Ibadan in November 1984.

She started her Teaching career with the Kwara State Civil Service in March 1985 as an Education Officer II, teaching English Language and Literature-in-English, and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Education Officer and Vice Principal Administration before transferring her services to the University of Ilorin in April 1998 as a Senior Assistant Registrar and was promoted Principal Assistant Registrar in October 2001.

After serving both in the Faculty and Establishment Divisions of the University of Ilorin, she was appointed Deputy Registrar, first at Adeyemi College of Education Ondo (affiliated to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife) from2007 – 2009, then at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta on transfer of service from 2009. While at FUNAAB she was deployed to Academic Staff Personnel and Pension Matters, Senior Staff Establishment Matters, Council Affairs, Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science and Livestock Production. Her last posting was to the Senate and Admissions Office in 2017.

Mrs.  M.M.I. Popoola, who has garnered a lot of progressive experience in most divisions of the Registry, is a comfortable computer user who has attended several well organized seminars, training and conferences at the local, National and International levels and holds membership of several professional organizations like ANUPA, AUA ( Manchester), NIM, CIPM and ARNU. She is urbane and witty, ideas driven, can work under severe pressure, and this adequately prepared her for leadership position when she was appointed pioneer Registrar of Thomas Adewumi University Oko, Kwara State in March 2021. With her deep knowledge of institution management, she is assisting to begin an enduring legacy that will respond to the University’s needs and challenges in the coming years.
