NUC Appoints TAU Vice-Chancellor as Member of Eligibility Committee for ICT Development Project in NUS

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has appointed the Vice-chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Francisca Oladipo as a member of the eligibility committee for a project for ICT development in the Nigerian University system (NUS).

NUC Appoints TAU Vice-Chancellor as Member of Eligibility Committee for ICT Development Project in NUS

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has appointed the Vice-chancellor of Thomas Adewumi University, Prof. Francisca Oladipo as a member of the eligibility committee for a project for ICT development in the Nigerian University system (NUS).

The appointment came through a letter from the Executive Secretary of NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed. According to the NUC, the project is aimed at enhancing ICT infrastructure, governance, and use in teaching and learning in selected universities and developing minimum standards for institutional ICT deployments that will ensure the sustenance of the objectives of an ICT reform.

Lastly, the project is aimed at encouraging individual institutions to adapt to the minimum standards. The Executive secretary stated that he is confident of the objectivity and expertise which Prof. Francisca will bring to her assignment.

The commission cited that the federal government of Nigeria has reached out to the french development Agency to raise funds and address the challenges facing the university system in Nigeria.
