In a significant development that underscores the growing prominence of technology-focused education at Thomas Adewumi University, the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences has officially been inaugurated as a bonafide and legitimate chapter of the Nigeria Association of Computing Students (NACOS National).

This formal recognition was confirmed with the presentation of a Certificate of Recognition, signed by Comrade Emmanuel Bassey Akarawak, the NACOS National President, and received on May 29, 2025.

The certificate marks a major milestone for TAU and its community of computing students. It goes beyond a mere document — symbolizing the university’s commitment to the professional growth, innovation, and collaborative advancement of computing education in Nigeria.

“This recognition opens up a world of possibilities for our students,” noted, Comrade Oluwatodunni Obafemi, NACOS President, TAU Chapter. “It officially places our department in good standing with NACOS National, allowing us to take full advantage of the association’s programs, resources, competitions, and professional development opportunities.”

As a fully inaugurated chapter, TAU’s computing students are now positioned to engage more actively in national tech conversations, join professional networks, access mentorship, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's technological transformation.

The Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences, recognized for its drive toward innovation and excellence, continues to champion a curriculum that merges academic rigor with real-world relevance. This latest development further affirms the university’s vision to produce future-ready graduates who will become thought leaders, innovators, and changemakers in the digital era.

Thomas Adewumi University congratulates its computing students and faculty on this achievement and looks forward to a future filled with innovation, leadership, and transformative impact through NACOS.
