With a significant vision toward advancing medical and scientific education, Thomas Adewumi University has successfully completed the installation of cold room facility designed for the preservation of human bodies in its Gross Anatomy Laboratory, along with an accompanying animal house, all within an impressive nine-day timeframe. This milestone project was officially unveiled during the resource verification exercise for the MBBS and Radiography Science Programmes, reinforcing the University’s commitment to innovation, academic excellence, and experiential learning.

The state-of-the-art cold room, designed to preserve cadavers (human bodies) for educational and research purposes, is equipped with high-efficiency cooling systems, industrial-grade insulation, and a dependable power source to maintain optimal preservation standards. Complementing this is the newly established animal house, which currently accommodates rabbits and mice, to support TAU's growing capacity for research and experimental learning in various scientific fields, including pharmacology, physiology, and biomedical sciences.

Notably, the installation process saw the active involvement of 200-level students from the Faculty of Engineering, who contributed to various stages of the project, including system design, electrical setup, and testing. This hands-on experience, guided by professional engineers, provided the students with valuable exposure to real-world engineering practices, preparing them for their forthcoming Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) and future careers in the field.

With this great achievement, Thomas Adewumi University continues to set the pace as a forward-thinking institution, equipping its students with cutting-edge facilities and real-life professional experiences and reaffirming its vision as a growing hub for excellence in medical training and scientific research in Nigeria.
